Amrita University, Amritapuri Campus invites applications for faculty positions in Robotics and Automation. The positions are at the assistant or associate professor level with a starting date of July 2015. Candidates with exceptional background and experience may be considered at a higher rank.

We are interested in all areas of robotics including:

Dynamics, control, and planning
Graphics and intersection of vision and graphics
Human-robot interaction
Machine learning in robotics
Novel mechanisms, materials and actuators
Perception including computer vision, audition, and tactile sensing

Candidates are expected to develop and maintain an active, externally-funded research program and to complement and collaborate with existing research programs in the College of Engineering. Position and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, EEE, ECE or Computer Science or a closely related field with a exposure in Robotics/Automation. Minimum requirements
Candidates should be qualified and excited to support the postgraduate robotics and automation curriculum covering mechatronics, design, and controls. They should also develop and teach new/emerging topics in robotics and related areas and lead research projects in robotics applications.

Desired requirements
Candidates with research interests and expertise in mechatronic system design, expertise in design, modeling, and control of robotic systems that dynamically adapt and interact with unstructured environments, expertise in the design and fabrication of novel robotic systems for agricultural and environmental purposes, expertise in quality of life and medical robotics, including surgical and rehabilitation robotics, robotics research experience in, but not restricted, to the areas of sensing, manipulation, locomotion, human-robot interaction, environmental interaction, autonomy and vision for outdoor systems and navigation are strongly encouraged to apply.
